The dairy industry in Karnataka has been rocked by a controversy involving two of the state’s leading dairy brands, Amul and Nandini.

The issue has taken a political turn with the Congress and Janata Dal (Secular) (JDS) accusing each other of being involved in the controversy.

According to reports, a toolkit has been prepared by the Congress and JDS to defame Amul and promote Nandini ahead of the Karnataka Assembly elections in 2023. The toolkit reportedly contains false information and misleading data about Amul’s products and marketing strategies.

The controversy started when a social media campaign was launched by some unidentified individuals to discredit Amul’s products and promote Nandini’s products. The campaign alleged that Amul’s products were of inferior quality and contained harmful chemicals.

However, the Amul management denied the allegations and called them baseless. The company has also filed a complaint with the police against the unidentified individuals behind the campaign.

Meanwhile, the Congress and JDS have denied any involvement in the campaign and have accused the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of trying to defame them. The two parties have demanded a thorough investigation into the matter and have urged the Election Commission to take action against those behind the campaign.

The controversy has put the spotlight on the dairy industry in Karnataka, which is one of the largest in the country. Both Amul and Nandini are popular brands in the state and have a loyal customer base.

As the political slugfest continues, the people of Karnataka are hoping for a quick resolution to the controversy and an end to the negative campaigning. With the assembly elections just around the corner, the focus should be on issues that matter to the people of the state rather than mudslinging and personal attacks.
